Finding the radio book

In February 2012 I stumbled upon a trove of company documents from the 1940s and 1950s at a demolition site in Footscray, Melbourne. Here I tell the stories associated with those documents: the records of signwriting company Lewis & Skinner, and the tattered books of correspondence connected with writer Morris West and the radio serial company he started and ran, Australasian Radio Productions. Plus the more general exploration of 'ghost signs' that my discovery has sparked.

Some more great signs from Leisa, this time from Paris and the UK. Also: this blog has chalked up 20,000 page views!

Here are some more great signs sent to me by Leisa Clements. I missed these Parisian ones when I was there last October (see my pics here, plus a short para on why there aren't many ghost signs in Paris: http://findingtheradiobook.blogspot.com.au/2013/10/french-ghost-signs.html).

So it's great that Leisa has passed on these pics.

Also, a short note that this lil' blog is now 20,000 page views strong. That's tiny compared to other high-traffic webpages, but is well pleasing for such a 'niche' interest :)
