A few pics from other people

Firstly, there goes the brilliant Surrey Hills cluster. Ironically, they'll now be protected in the way that they had been previously, perhaps for the next 50 years. Thanks Rick for this pic and the next (not sure where the second one is located but good to see some 70s/80s signs, and for some iconic Aussie products too).

TV fame for the Australasian Radio Productions book of correspondence

People who have been following this blog for a while might recall that, as well as stumbling on the Lewis and Skinner signwriting documents at a demolition site in 2012, I also found books of correspondence from a company called Australasian Radio Productions, which made radio serials from 1946 to the 1950s. (that's why this blog is called 'Finding the Radio Book').

Well, the tattered book of ARP's 1947-1948 incoming correspondence now has a starring cameo role in the new opening titles for the ABC show Gardening Australia, created by the talented motion designer Julia Bourke. Julia grabbed the book for the titles, repurposed it as the 'gardening diary' sitting on a bench in a suburban backyard, and added lots of beautiful effects.

Lastly, if you're interested in the ARP documents, I've started to scan and upload them to a subsection of the Lewis & Skinner archive: http://www.lewisandskinner.com/collections/show/393 Some of the scans are dodgy (the books are hard to scan on a flatbed scanner and so we did them using a phone app) but we will be returning to them and improving them soon.
