Funnily enough, a couple of days after David sent these pics, I took my kids to a pizza making birthday party in what turned out to be the same set of shops next to the Caulfield railway station. So while the kids were busy making their cheesy creations, I took a few more pics of this sign - and some others in the vicinity, including a brilliant motor garage uncovering with a painted pastoral scene:

I remember when the Argus / Age sign was re painted ( renovated) in the mid 80's. The original version had pretty much faded away.
